Inside Our High Summer Launch at Pipi’s Kiosk

Against the serene backdrop of Albert Park’s foreshore, we welcomed a stylish group of women to the iconic Pipi’s Kiosk for an intimate preview of Yarra Trail’s High Summer collection. The event was hosted by Michelle Greene, style leader in Australia’s fashion community, and special guests included Jess Dempsey, Marie Uva, Jo Hall, Sarita Holland and Jane Scandizzo. Each of our guests brought energy and warmth to an afternoon celebrating effortless Australian style and the natural ease that lies at the heart of our brand.

Our High Summer collection was unveiled in a palette of subtle colour, elevated prints and beautiful natural fabrics. Each piece has been thoughtfully designed to bring a sense of understated elegance, comfort and relaxed style to the slow, easy days of the Australian summer.

Our guests enjoyed a beautifully curated lunch generously put together by the team at Pipi’s Kiosk, featuring Sydney rock oysters, Wagyu flank steak with bordelaise and baked Rainbow Trout, finishing with a light, summery pavlova with pineapple and crème diplomat.

As our guests relaxed over lunch, our gracious host Michelle Greene sat down with Kerryn and Sarah from the Yarra Trail design team to find out more about our High Summer collection.

In Conversation with the Yarra Trail Design Team

Yarra Trail is known for its relaxed sophistication - easy silhouettes, natural fabrics and a distinctly Australian sensibility. What are some of the key design philosophies that continue to shape the brand?

Yarra Trail is definitely a slow fashion label, we’re not fast fashion. One of the philosophies behind the brand is that we help you build your wardrobe over time. Part of this is our Essence Collection which is made up of platform pieces that form the foundation of your wardrobe. This could be anything from a timeless chino pant to a well-cut shirt in a classic colour. The thinking is that we encourage you to use these pieces as building blocks, pulling in new season trends and colours over the top to develop your own capsule over time.

Each season we like to use colours like navy, stone, black and ecru, mixed with fresh seasonal hues. One thing a lot of people might not know is that our classic colours are always exactly the same colour standard each season. What that means is that you can buy navy linen this year, and it will match back with the navy linen you bought last year.

The Summer ’26 collection feels so fresh and vibrant. Can you talk us through the inspiration behind it and what you wanted women to feel when wearing these pieces?

We have tried to design around all the beautiful events that the Yarra Trail woman attends at this time of year;  summer events that form such a key part of our Australian lifestyle. We have created everything from effortless resort-style outfits, relaxed pieces to wear for drinks on the deck or a casual BBQ with friends, to more elevated event wear.

There’s been so much conversation around effortless dressing and capsule wardrobes. How does Yarra Trail interpret these ideas for the modern woman?

We love to use fabrics that are always comfortable and cool to wear.  Our designs are made to move with you every day, using beautiful natural fabrications like European flax linen and pure cotton. Our brand philosophy is founded in nature, which means we prioritise using premium natural fabrics, designing pieces that feel effortless and timeless whilst bringing a little bit of sophistication as well.

Could you share your favourite piece or colour story from the collection and how you’d style it for the warmer months ahead?

(Sarah): My absolute favourite is the Kinship Vest and Skirt in Ink that I’m wearing today. I love the linens we do at Yarra Trail and this set is crafted from premium European flax linen so you know it’s beautiful quality. I love the feature button detail on the vest too.

(Kerryn): The Bloom Print from this collection is my favourite. It’s available in a stunning dress, as well as in the shirt and pants set I’m wearing today. I just love it and obviously many of you do too as several of our beautiful guests here today are wearing it too which is so lovely to see!
