The sunny summer season and our impending public holiday has us thinking about our favourite long weekends.

Away from summer crowds and closer to wine, cheese & relaxation- here is how Yarra Trail HQ likes to spend our

long weekends.

“My favourite weekend away is going to my beach house at Tootgarook – sitting on my deck in my Yarra Trail printed

dress, sipping a glass of wine.Going to the local market on Saturday morning for all my vegetables and relaxing there with friends

and a coffee. On  Sunday, head to a winery for lunch and enjoy the local produce. Come home and go for a long walk on the beach.”

Anthea, General Manager

“Every Boxing day my husband & I escape to Daylesford for a few nights for some R&R.

It is the perfect time to go when everyone else heads to the beach, so it is quiet but all the great restaurants and shops are open.

We spend our days following the beautiful walking paths, browsing the art galleries and eating our way through the wonderful local

produce. I love to finish with a visit to the spa for a relaxing massage or facial.”

Alison, Designer

“Red Hill in the Morning Peninsula is my favourite weekend getaway. I enjoy staying at some of the beautiful holiday homes available

there. Days spent going on long walks eating at some of the fabulous restaurants and of course enjoying the local Pinot Noir.”

Marc, Operations and Supply Chain Manager

“A weekend escape to Beechworth is always so refreshing, being away from the crowd and going for a beautiful bike ride through the

wineries and country side. I especially enjoy the array of food options, especially the delectable cheese!”

Lovely, Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator

“My favourite long weekend location has got to be Byron Bay.

Nowhere else has such a relaxed, chilled out vibe! The Byron Lighthouse Walk rewards you with some amazing

sea views, especially at sunset.I also love just wandering through the town visiting the beachy boutiques and

having drinks overlooking the sea.. and of course, finishing off the weekend with fish and chips on the beach.”

Harriet, Graphic Designer

“Mt Martha is my ideal weekend getaway- filled with breakfasts by the water, long days at the beach, sunset drinks and

nibbles and long walks on the pier! Occasionally my family like to go berry picking and visit the surrounding wineries as

something to enjoy together. We used to go there to visit my Grandma quite frequently and now my family are in the midst

of building our own holiday retreat to create many more fun and happy memories!”
