Anyone for Brunch?
It’s a part of our Australian culture, to catch up and wind down the week with friends
and family surrounded by smells of coffee and toast. Will you be adventurous and
try a new location, or be faithful and true to your skinny latte and avocado on toast.
So go out and explore the wild world of breakfast catch ups and treat yourself to a
new food experience.
We’ve tried and tested the best of a big bunch to bring you our favourites for a
Saturday morning ritual of chats and coffee.
QUICK BROWN FOX (PYRMONT): This new café is the perfect mix between your classic
brunch favourites with a twist of multicultural flavours. With a focus on local food
and sustainability you can’t go wrong! Try the French toast, it’s amazing!
WENT TO SEE THE GYPSEY (ALEXANDRIA): Sitting in a warehouse space with exposed
beams and a minimalist colour scheme, this café is large and in charge. Their coffee
bar is legendary and they even host their own coffee school around the corner, so
you know the drip is going to be good!
What we’re wearing to brunch: The Flourish Print Blouse
THE STABLES OF COMO (SOUTH YARRA): We highly recommend this gem. Great to take
out of towners to wow them of the wonders of Melbourne coffee. Try to ploughman’s
brekkie, we’re obsessed
AU79 (ABBOSTFORD): Another architectural marvel, AU79 has a built in bakery, in-
house roaster and ecosystem! Fabulous spot for a girls brunch, especially when
there is champagne involved.
What we’re wearing to brunch: Relaxed Linen Jacket in white
FLORA & FAUNA (NORTHBRIDGE): This has to be one of the most beautiful and pretty
brunch places in Perth. Stunning attention to detail, serving the best of fine teas and
PORT CITY ROASTERS (SOUTH FREMANTLE): While the name suggests a good coffee
(which they do make) these guys make some very yummy breakfast. Served all day,
and known for serving up great classics like eggs benedict. Don’t forget to grab a
house-made doughnut for the road!
What we’re wearing to brunch: Reflection Print Tee
BORN IN BRUNSWICK (Elizabeth Street): the folks of Melbourne know how to brunch!
Bringing their expertise down south, they’ve created a beautiful eatery with perfect
coffee to match. Did we mention they serve cheesecake for breakfast!?
SMALL-FRY (Bathurst Street): Very cosy and communal, this is a local favourite. Serving
the best local produce and favourite dishes with a Hobart flare.
What we’re wearing to brunch: Quartz Print Blouse
KING ARTHUR (FORTITUE VALLEY): One of those staple cafes that do the very best of
the basics. Great if you’re after a hearty breakfast and or some homemade sweets to
go with your perfectly brewed coffee.
THREE BLUE DUCKS (CITY): Located in the luxurious W Hotel, this café has stunning
views of the river and south bank. If that doesn’t entice you enough, the elegant yet
casual dining will make any brunch date feel special.
What we’re wearing to brunch: Botanical Print Dress
PETER RABBIT (CITY): This is one of the most relaxing spots in town. Perfect for a
midday cocktail with a side of eggs. They even have resident bunnies that are always
up for a cuddle!
FLINDERS STREET PROJECT (CITY): This quircky little café is perfect for those willing
to step outside the box! Look up from your latte and see a wave of wooden spoons
above your head. With a bakery in house it’s hard to resist the fresh bread and treats
