On a recent holiday in sunny Spain, our High Summer Collection came to life. Inspired by sea, river and sunshine hues-
Head Designer Alison allowed her European summer trip to create a summer story that spoke to Yarra Trail. From Vibrant hues and fun patterns, Glorious Oasis and Ebb & Flow are set to be the perfect summer holiday collections.
What’s your favourite piece from the High Summer collection?
It has to be the Tropical Leaf Print Pant, it looks cool and elegant. Add a touch of luxe with the Sequin Tank.
How did you feel whilst designing this Collection?
Optimistic and happy. Summer is my favourite season- it’s a time when I get to indulge my passion for colour and pattern.
So you can expect that each summer season.
What types of fabrications do you focus on for High Summer?
At Yarra Trail we try to concentrate on natural fibres such as cotton and linen especially in summer. Comfort and breathability are
important. Where extra drape is required, we use Viscose and blends for the optimum results.
What types of things inspired you whilst designing?
For Glorious Oasis; definitely the art of Paul Gauguin and the Post Impressionists.
I thought of tropical themes and vibrant colours. For Ebb & Flow, my holiday in Spain last year.
I always try to be close to water when I am on holiday- beach, lake, river – perfect for relaxing and recharging the batteries.
What are your favourite pieces to wear in summer?
I am definitely a dress girl, no need to think about co-ordinating an outfit! I like to throw on a dress and go.
I love a simple shape in a beautiful print, such as the Bouquet Print Dress.
How would you spend your long weekend in our High Summer Pieces?
My ideal long weekend would start with a little road trip to a town or village on the coast.
Some browsing in the boutiques for fashion and homewares followed by a leisurely lunch. Outfit of choice - the fresh
The Tropical Leaf print Dress is so versatile I would wear it over bathers at the beach or accessorise with
statement jewellery and sandals for evening drinks.
